DIY Centerpieces -The Teapot

This centerpiece is great for a Tea Party themed shower, rehearsal dinner, or even a whimsical wedding.

It's easy to do, any teapot will do!  You can get a lot of different teapots from the local Thrift Store and have every table with another teapot, and still save money over the traditional glass vases.

What you need:

  • a teapot (or how every many tables you have)
  • a spool of wire
  • a bunch of silk or real flowers
  • round ended needle nosed plyers
  • card stock to match your chosen colors*
  • a marker, caligraphy pen or number stamps**

Start with your flowers.  Bunch them up and stick them into your teapot, as you would a vase.  Easy Peasy!  You can stop here, or you can continue to add table numbers, as pictured.

Next, cut a length of wire, for your table number.

Using your needle nosed plyers, bend and end into a spiral, or alternately, any shape...  hearts and spirals work best.  Then stick the wire for down into your bunch of flowers.

Now, you are ready to add your table number card.  I just used a magic marker and wrote the numbers on a ripped peice of card stock.  If you like, you can use rubber number stamps, or even print them from your computer. There are a lot of templates for table number signs, that are pretty neat, on the web.

You can also find a variation of this over at C(oi)n:purse, that is pretty cute, too!
